Vildagliptin

Tablet

Vildagliptin belongs to a class of oral anti-diabetic medicines called DPP-4 inhibitors (gliptins). It works by making the pancreas produce more insulin and less glucagon. This helps to control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is used when diabetes cannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone, often in combination with other medicines like metformin.
