Sevelamer

Tablet

Sevelamer binds dietary phosphate in the gastrointestinal tract, forming insoluble complexes that are excreted in feces. This reduces phosphate absorption, lowering serum phosphate levels. Unlike calcium-based binders, Sevelamer does not increase calcium load, reducing risk of vascular calcification.
