Mycophenolate

Tablet

Mycophenolate Sodium belongs to a group of medicines called immunosuppressants. It is used to prevent your body from rejecting a transplanted organ such as a kidney, heart, or liver. After a transplant, your immune system may see the new organ as foreign and try to destroy it, which is called rejection. Mycophenolate Sodium works by reducing your immune system’s ability to attack the transplanted organ. It blocks certain white blood cells called T and B lymphocytes and reduces the production of antibodies.
This medicine is usually taken along with other anti-rejection medicines such as ciclosporin and corticosteroids.
