Mechanism

Ebastine selectively blocks peripheral H1 histamine receptors, preventing histamine-mediated allergic responses. It provides effective relief for up to 24 hours.

Pharmacokinetics

  • Absorption: Rapid oral absorption
  • Metabolism: Hepatic, converted to active metabolite carebastine
  • Elimination: Renal excretion
  • Half-life: 15–19 hours

Contraindication
