Strength
  • Bilastine 20 mg
  • Montelukast 10 mg
Packing Size
  • 10 Tablets

Mechanism

Bilastine is a non-sedating second-generation antihistamine that selectively blocks peripheral H1 receptors, helping relieve symptoms such as sneezing, nasal discharge, itching, and watery eyes. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that blocks leukotrienes, inflammatory substances responsible for airway inflammation, nasal congestion, and allergic symptoms. Together, they provide comprehensive control of allergic manifestations.

Pharmacokinetics

  • Absorption: Bilastine rapidly absorbed; Montelukast bioavailability ~64%.
  • Distribution: Both highly protein bound.
  • Metabolism: Bilastine minimal hepatic metabolism; Montelukast via CYP3A4.
  • Elimination: Bilastine fecal; Montelukast renal and fecal.
  • Half-life: Bilastine ~14 hrs; Montelukast ~2.7–5.5 hrs.

Side Effects

  • Drowsiness (rare with Bilastine)
  • Headache
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Fatigue
