Suspension

This suspension is a combination of an antibiotic, an antiprotozoal agent, and an antiflatulent designed for comprehensive management of gastrointestinal infections. Ofloxacin is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Metronidazole Benzoate targets anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, while Simethicone relieves gas and bloating by reducing gas bubbles in the gut.

Mechanism

Ofloxacin
Inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, preventing DNA replication and leading to bacterial cell death.
Metronidazole Benzoate
Enters anaerobic organisms and disrupts DNA synthesis, causing cell death.
Simethicone
Reduces surface tension of gas bubbles, allowing them to coalesce and be expelled easily, relieving bloating.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Antacids & iron: Reduce absorption of Ofloxacin
Alcohol: May cause disulfiram-like reaction with Metronidazole
Antidiabetic drugs: May alter blood glucose levels
