Mechanism

Lidocaine
Blocks sodium ion channels in nerve membranes, preventing initiation and conduction of nerve impulses, resulting in temporary loss of sensation.
Isopropyl Alcohol
Denatures proteins of microorganisms, providing rapid antiseptic action and reducing risk of infection.
