Mechanism

Ferrous Bisglycinate provides bioavailable iron for hemoglobin synthesis. Zinc supports enzymatic functions and immunity. Folic Acid aids DNA synthesis and red blood cell maturation. Methylcobalamin supports neurological function and erythropoiesis.

Pharmacokinetics

  • Absorption: Ferrous Bisglycinate highly absorbed; Folic Acid absorbed in small intestine; Methylcobalamin absorbed in ileum.
  • Metabolism: Folic Acid converted to active tetrahydrofolate; Methylcobalamin active form of B12.
  • Excretion: Iron via feces; B12 and folate via urine/feces.

Side Effects

  • Constipation
  • Nausea
  • Dark stools
  • Rare: Hypersensitivity reactions

Contraindication

  • Hemochromatosis
  • Iron overload syndromes
  • Hypersensitivity to components

Interaction

  • Tetracyclines & Quinolones (reduced absorption)
  • Anticonvulsants (reduce folate levels)
  • Alcohol (impairs folate/B12 absorption)

Warning and Precautions

  • Monitor hemoglobin and ferritin levels
  • Use cautiously in renal impairment
  • Recommended during pregnancy under medical supervision

Dosage

As directed by the Physician.
