FLUTICASONE + AZELASTINE

Nasal Spray

This nasal spray is a dual-action combination of a corticosteroid and an antihistamine for effective management of allergic rhinitis. Fluticasone reduces inflammation in the nasal passages, while Azelastine provides rapid relief by blocking histamine receptors responsible for allergic symptoms. Together, they provide fast and sustained relief from nasal congestion, sneezing, itching, and runny nose.

Mechanism

Fluticasone
Inhibits release of inflammatory mediators (histamine, cytokines, leukotrienes), reducing nasal inflammation and swelling.
Azelastine
Blocks H1 histamine receptors, providing rapid relief from allergic symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and runny nose.

Side Effects

  • Drowsiness (due to Azelastine)
  • Bitter taste
  • Sneezing

Contraindication

  • Hypersensitivity to Fluticasone, Azelastine, or any component
  • Untreated nasal infections

Dosage

  • As directed by the physician.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

  • CNS depressants: May enhance sedative effects (Azelastine)
  • Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors: May increase Fluticasone exposure
  • Alcohol: May increase drowsiness
