Diclofenac Diethylamine

Gel

Diclofenac Diethylamine Gel 1.16% w/w is a topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory formulation used for effective relief from pain and inflammation associated with muscle aches, joint disorders, sprains, strains, and sports injuries. It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing the production of prostaglandins responsible for pain and swelling. The gel is rapidly absorbed through the skin, providing targeted action at the site of application with minimal systemic side effects. It is suitable for conditions like back pain, arthritis, and soft tissue injuries, offering fast and localized relief when applied 2–4 times daily as directed.

Mechanism

Diclofenac inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2) which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins.
