Dapagliflozin

Tablet

Dapagliflozin propanediol Tablet contains Dapagliflozin, a potent, highly selective, and orally active inhibitor of the human renal sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2), the major transporter responsible for renal glucose reabsorption. It is used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Dapagliflozin works on our kidneys to increase the amount of sugar that our body removes in urine. Due to its protective effects on the kidneys and heart, It can also be used to treat chronic kidney disease and certain types of heart failure.

Mechanism

Dapagliflozin selectively inhibits sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) in renal tubules. This reduces glucose reabsorption and increases urinary glucose excretion, lowering blood glucose levels.
