Clindamycin

Capsule

Clindamycin capsules contain the active substance clindamycin which belongs to a class of medicines called lincosamide antibiotics. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping the growth and spread of infection-causing bacteria.

Mechanism

Clindamycin works by binding to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, inhibiting protein synthesis and preventing bacterial growth.

Dosage

Contraindication

  • Hypersensitivity to Clindamycin or lincomycin
