Mechanism

Celecoxib selectively inhibits the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, reducing the production of prostaglandins that cause pain, inflammation, and swelling, while sparing COX-1, thus minimizing gastric side effects compared to traditional NSAIDs .
