Eberconazole is an antifungal drug and has broad spectrum activity. It is used to treat dermatophytosis, it is the superficial skin infection which is caused by dermatophyte, attaches to the keratin, colonizes in the keratinized tissue using keratin as nutrition.

Pharmacology

Mechanism of Action:
  • It works by inhibiting the lanosterol 14-alpha demethylation which converts lanosterol into ergosterol
  • Here, ergosterol is the component of fungal cell wall synthesis

Side Effects:
  • Burning sensation
  • Erythema
  • Rashes
  • Itching

Precautions:
Do not use if you are allergic to it.

Contraindications:
  • Contraindicated in pregnancy
  • Contraindicated in breastfeeding women
  • Contraindicated in people with known hypersensitivity
